Frank Bruno Battles it out with Ryanair looses but wins with Easy Jet.
Frank was asked to attend a Hospice Presentation in Scotland and unfortunately not taking his passport to the airport, Ryanair staff who had never heard of Frank Bruno let alone what he looked like, would not let him board the plane. There was a lot of panic and quick thinking by the booking office, we then contacted Easy Jet who help us out with organizing last minute tickets to ensure that the hundreds of people that had bought tickets’ to support the hospice was not be disappointed. Frank joked that the staff at Ryanair were given the opportunity to see a copy of Franks book to prove that he was Frank Bruno by just looking at the pictures on the front cover. However, they still did not believe who he was and would not let him through the gate.
This is a lesson to us all, where ever you travel with Ryanair, ensure that you have your passport. This story received national news all over the UK. There is a post script to this story, where the following week a boxing club also in Ayr had invited Frank for their function. Frank this time travelled with Easy Jet without any problems. |
